Role: Shipping Coordinator

Location: Wolverhampton

Working hours: Double days (6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm)

Duration: 6 months

Pay rate: £15.38ph

Role & Responsibility:

Materials Management has a dedicated Dispatch Department that supports day to day processing of outgoing Material for the production departments across the site in line with Corporate Procedures & EHS guidelines

The successful candidate will join the Logistics Team & be accountable & responsible in supporting production needs & requirements to achieve customer satisfaction, quality, delivery, cost & achieving customer on time in full alongside Industry specific targets

Principle Accountabilities

  • Create daily shipments packs via SAP, Courier and customer portals

  • Liaise with couriers to arrange shipments of goods via email/ telephone/portals.

  • Ability to learn the different types of shipments that need to be made.

  • Quick to learn with full training given.

  • Attend daily shipping meeting and liaise with Production control staff to support the daily requirements to achieve on time shipments to customers.

  • Verify Dispatch documents, material, components & quantity received are, correct to documentation requirements & the relevant procedures that are applicable.

  • Ability to interface with a wider range of business personnel to ensure the timely dispatch of goods.

  • Able to follow procedure and specific quality requirements of parts.

  • Structured and organised; good planning, reporting and communication skills.

  • Liaise with couriers whilst on site to ensure vehicles are secure when leaving site and checking drivers ID's to ensure they are valid couriers on the approved list.

  • Create & manage any record systems that are required (dispatch logs etc.)

  • Sort & segregate waste for recycling & maintain good house- keeping and a high level of 5s.

  • Able & willing to work Days, Double Days Shift including weekends as & when required.

Typical Educational Requirements:

  • Computer literate essential

  • Known cargo training will be given as part of the on-site training

  • Flexible with a willingness to work as part of a team

  • Reliable, good timekeeping with a "can do" attitude.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Responsive to change i.e. Continuous Improvement & achieving ACE goals

  • Good communication skills (telephone / email)

  • Computer literate

  • Good organisational, time management skills

  • Able to work calm under pressure & able to work on own initiative & make decisions

From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the company to perform other tasks which are not in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual & where necessary relevant training will be given.
