Role summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Painter & Shot Blaster is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective preparation of steel components for the application of protective coating. The subsequent applying of the protective coating and drying finished products within a paint oven.
The Shot Blaster is key to ensuring the efficient and on time flow through of fabricated items to finished products/stock. Adhering to Quality Plan requirements and customer project specifications e.g. subsea, low temperature etc.


  • A genuine passion for aesthetics and quality finished products, understanding how it is a crucial part of ensuring on specification delivery to our customers.

  • Proven painting and shot blasting experience and knowledge from within a fabrication environment.

  • A confident self-starter with the ability to prioritise and proactively manage their own workload, in order to achieve daily stock flow schedules.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Operations Teams to overcome them.

  • Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment

  • A Forklift Operator License would be advantageous, but not essential.

  • A relevant paint spraying/application qualification would be advantageous, but not essential e.g. SSPC or ICATS etc.


Competitive Salary: £18,500 - £21,500 (approximately £8.90 - £10.30 per hour).

Location: Poole, Dorset -

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:30. Friday 08:00 to 13:10 (total of 40 hours per week).
