Single Online Home Manager - UK Wide - Circa £46,622 per annum - Kidlington or Netley

I have an exciting role to work collaboratively across Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police to manage the operation, development, support, and performance of the forces' "digital front counter" - the Single Online Home (SOH) web platform - and the team supporting it. You will continuously improve the forces' online capabilities through building and maintaining excellent relationships with critical internal and external stakeholders and system managers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the continued implementation, usage and development of the SOH system, including services, developing the local delivery roadmap and service enhancement backlog for both forces.

  • Act as the operational lead providing a comprehensive link between the product, its users and key stakeholders across both Forces.

  • Manage the development and delivery of new or improved online services across both Forces, working proactively to support the Chief Constables' and Police and Crime Commissioners' strategic aims and Force priorities.

  • Foster a culture of digital change and innovation in all interactions, seeking out new capabilities within the product in order to identify and realise effectiveness and efficiency benefits across all relevant business areas.

  • Act as a point of contact for local and national stakeholders and asset owners regarding SOH development, delivery, queries and issues, effectively managing their expectations and needs particularly in terms of operating parameters and the introduction of high-harm / high-risk reporting services.

  • Represent both Forces on national programme boards and product development steering groups.

  • Monitor online services and products to ensure they balance our communities' needs with operational requirements while adopting a "learning the lessons" approach.

  • Create mechanisms for regular feedback and evaluate the process and comments provided to ensure the product works to its full potential whilst also maintaining the best possible user experience.

  • Identify business change requirements during development and delivery of services, influence stakeholders and manage expectations around delivery plans.

  • Develop ways to identify additional functionalities available / in the pipeline and determine how these can be utilised to maintain and ultimately improve operational performance.

  • Manage a team, contributing to their career development whilst maintaining a high-performing, high-quality outcomes culture.

  • Coach and encourage the team to be user-focused and instil a continuous development ethos in the department through training, accreditation and the appraisal process.

  • Continually motivate staff through effective workload planning, monitoring employee welfare and through quality assurance of work standards.

Your experience will include:

  • Education to 'A' Level standard or equivalent, or work experience deemed to have brought the candidate to a comparable level.

  • Ability to form strong connections and working relationships with all local and national stakeholders.

  • Confidence in negotiating, influencing and networking with stakeholders and senior leaders in order to advocate for and deliver robust digital solutions for policing.

  • Management experience including a proven record of leadership, motivation and delegation skills.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills and ability prioritise own workload and team's workload with a focus on meeting key objectives.

  • Knowledge and experience of managing digital or contact services and / or products, and understanding of service automation and / or platform integration

  • Ability to investigate and analyse issues and problems to a complex level across many systems.

  • High level of computer literacy with knowledge of system synchronisation and/or integration and automation, or the ability and willingness to learn and implement new systems as technology changes/advances.

  • Good understanding of GDPR and the importance of maintaining discretion and

  • confidentiality whilst working in a secure environment with sensitive information.

  • Must have the capability to travel to different locations across both forces, and regionally and nationally as necessary, undertaking all assignments in a timely manner.

  • Public transport may not be available or suitable at these times.

  • Experience of developing product roadmaps in collaboration with business leads and technical experts.

  • Knowledge and experience of change management methodologies, risk management processes and dependency mapping, with a Project Management Practitioner qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards this level.

  • Knowledge of Policing policies and procedures, including GDPR, Computer Misuse, Human Rights and Freedom of Information, in support of system processes to support end users as well as allow effective development.
