Adecco's specialist Property Services Division North are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-known Housing Association to assist them in recruiting for a permanent Site and Adoptions Engineer to work out of their offices located in Sunderland.


The postholder will provide technical support to site teams, assisting with the resolution of site based technical queries. Will monitor developments in build to ensure they are delivered in line with technical drawings and also be responsible for ensuring the timely adoption of roads and sewers across Gentoo Homes' developments.


  • Maintain and interpret site drawings, topographical drawings, construction drawings, foundation schedules etc.

  • Set out and check setting out from the contract drawings/information.

  • Operate GPS instruments, lasers, levels etc. to carry out surveys, as and when required.

  • Undertake site quality checks to ensure developments are delivered in line with drawings and specification.

  • Provide as built information and drawings.

  • Be a point of contact for the clerk of works/client/sub-contractors to assist with the progression of works and carry out any required inspections.

  • Ensure highway / drainage inspections are arranged and certificates are applied for in a timely manner.

  • Prior to new sites finishing, work with the Construction Team to ensure timely issue of a maintenance certificate for both roads and sewers.

  • Ensure all Health & Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments are approved by the Head of Construction and/or Gentoo Group's Health & Safety Advisor prior to commencing maintenance works on completed sites.

Candidate requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar position with a housing developer or with a Highway / Drainage Authority.

  • Confident on Using AutoCad or Civil 3D , extracting data and processing for site purpose

  • Experienced in Word, Excel & Outlook.

  • Knowledge & understanding of technical Civil Engineering drawings and design

  • Degree or HNC/HND Qualified in Civil Engineering.

  • CSCS card.

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay: £ 44,000 - £ 47,000
