Snowflake Engineer - Contract - Highly Competitive Salary - Nottingham

My client is one of the top 10 credit card issuers in both the UK and United States and they are currently looking for a Snowflake Engineer to support their Snowflake build out and migration. This will be based in their Nottingham office, on a hybrid working basis. This is an initial 6-month assignment - but is likely to extend.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to engineering efforts in evolving the Enterprise Snowflake platform for community usage not limited to ETL, BI and ML applications.

  • Collaborate with architecture, data and cyber teams to build efficient and secure application integration solutions for Snowflake hosted in AWS cloud environment.

  • Implement various authentication patterns tailor fitting the needs of each consumer application integrating with Snowflake.

  • Setup multi-region resiliency for Snowflake and enforce high availability of data for consumers

  • Design custom reconciliation solutions for massive data comparisons between Snowflake and legacy systems such as Teradata, HDFS, S3, RDS, etc.

  • Automate Snowflake user provisioning and credentials management adhering to Access controls and Vaulting standards.

  • Build deployment pipelines for seamless code migration across environments.

  • Monitor and scale the platform in accordance with data growth ensuring sustainable performance throughout the life cycle.

Your experience will include:

  • Proficient in building secure connectivity models using SSO, SAML, Key-pair, oAuth, etc. between Snowflake and ETL/BI platforms.

  • Experience of implementing RBAC, Virtual warehouses, clustering, Jenkins or any CI/CD pipeline on the snowflake.

  • Strong inclination towards gauging performance issues proactively and implement scalability solutions.

  • Experience of designing/building enterprise wide logging and monitoring solutions for Snowflake.

  • Experience of managing data quality and governance aspects within Snowflake and Cloud environment.

  • Understanding of basic AWS cloud controls, S3 bucket policies, IAM roles and data encryption/decryption.

This role will be hybrid Nottingham and home based.
With a highly competitive rate, inside IR35.
6 month initial contract.
