Our client within public sector is looking qualified Solicitor/Barrister (Enforcement and Litigation) to join their Legal team based in Tower Hamlets. The role holder will be offered £25.42/hour (umbrella rate/ inside IR35) working 35 hours per week, Mon to Friday.


The Solicitor will be responsible for the provision of legal advice, drafting and associated work, undertaking a caseload of legal matters relating to the work of the Civil Litigation Team in Legal Services.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible to the Principal Lawyer, you will provide high quality legal advice and support to the Council and external clients and be able to conduct Employment law cases and some general civil litigation matters.

Required Experience and Skills:



  • Qualified Solicitor who can demonstrate the ability to conduct other general civil litigation cases such as homelessness, disrepair and judicial reviews.

  • Experience of managing a substantial case load covering the above area of law.

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Employment law and practice as it relates to the Council's duties as an employer

  • Experience of providing ad hoc advice to clients at meetings, in writing or on the telephone with strong advocacy skills. Experience of conducting advocacy in the

  • Employment Tribunal and County Court is a key requirement for this post.

  • Competent, self-motivated, a good team player and possess excellent organisational and time management skills.
