An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Step Up Stay Safe Coordinator to join a public sector organisation based in East London.


The successful candidate will lead on a number of universal and targeted interventions that seek to reduce schools' exclusions and reducing the risk of criminal activity and exploitation. The role will contribute to the planning, development, implementation of the organisation's 'Step Up Stay Safe' action plan.


The successful applicant will coordinate service providers and key stakeholders to ensure interventions are delivered in line with relevant Service Level Agreements, Quality Assurance Framework and Governance and Compliance guidelines.


The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification or training relevant to Youth Work and/or Project and Programme Management. Knowledge and experience in relation to youth offending and/or youth work/education, including direct work with service users, service providers and other key stakeholders. The successful applicant will also have the ability to manage programmes and projects that deliver clearly identified benefits which require a multi-agency approach.



Key duties will include:



  • Lead on reporting arrangements for a range of interventions, including qualitative and quantitative returns to the Greater London Authority, as well as provide support to delivery partners to improve efficacy

  • Lead on coordinating the organisation's 'Step Up Stay Safe' programme which seeks to reduce serious youth violence through statutory and voluntary sectors partnerships

  • Lead of coordinating delivery for a large fund programme delivered though three core voluntary sector partners

  • Provide support to delivery partner organisations to ensure that interventions are coordinated, linked in, evaluated and best meet the needs of service users

  • Collate quantitative and qualitative data from delivery partners and submit quarterly and annual returns to the GLA in relation to use of the Fund

  • Provide reports on performance in relation to interventions within the Step Up Stay Safe programme to senior managers and relevant boards

  • Lead on supporting relevant delivery partners to achieve the London Youth Quality Mark at bronze level

  • Oversee payment structure for the fund programme in line with service level agreements with delivery partners

  • Develop systems and processes to ensure engagement in shaping service delivery I relation to reducing the risk of exclusion from school and criminal exploitation and activity

  • Arrange and contribute to stakeholder workshops that review progress against agreed action plans and set priorities for future direction

  • Provide the link between schools, health, police and voluntary sector partners around preventative work to reduce exclusion and risk of criminal exploitation and activity
