On behalf of our client, Adecco UK are recruiting for a Stores Warehouse Operative to maintain a high level of service to internal and external customers in a pro-active and cooperative manner at all times. This is a great opportunity to work for a friendly and reputable company, whilst being responsible for inventory management and other daily warehouse tasks.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform functions related to the receipt, storage and despatch of physical goods.

  • Pick, pack and despatch inventory for sales orders.

  • Ensure returns are labelled and appropriate paperwork is raised.

  • Complete and process all applicable documentation for movement of goods and stock levels, adhering to company policy to maintain integrity of inventory records.

  • Conduct stock counting & stock rotation.

  • Assist in maintaining the security of all warehouse stock and equipment.

  • Assist with maintaining stock levels, locations, computer stock.

  • Receive incoming inventory against purchase orders processing the relevant transactions as required.

  • Liaising with third party transport/ parcel couriers.

  • Loading/unloading of trucks & containers. Check delivery for accuracy of quantity and specification. Identify and record as directed.

  • Receive incoming consumables - forwarding appropriate paperwork for payment.

  • Investigate any stock discrepancies and advise the Manager of any adjustments required.

  • Any other warehouse administration duties as required

  • Contribute to team effort by performing related tasks as necessary and as directed by line Manager.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report to a Manager any hazards or unsafe work practices.

  • To adhere to and ensure that they are compliant with Health and Safety legislation and aware of emergency evacuation procedures.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Warehouse & stock management experience essential

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems

  • Forklift Truck Licence (Reach/Counter balance)

  • Proficient in OPERA or similar

  • Familiar with web-based Freight Systems

  • Knowledge of Outlook or similar email software

Reporting to:

  • Warehouse/Spare parts Manager


  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays

  • Warehouse stock management: 2 years minimum

Working hours:

  • Mon-Thurs 8:45am to 4:45pm, Friday 08:45am to 4:15pm
