Strategic Manager

Working hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm

Location: Aldgate

Salary: up to £55,800 pa (DOE) + company bonus

Job Description:

Pontoon has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Manager to join a prestigious financial services company. As a Strategic Manager you will ensure that our client's company develops and matures its strategic approach, to deliver a first class service and operational performance. They will build strong business relationships with CMCs, as well as key stakeholders, such as the regulatory estate and other third parties. The role holder will occasionally deputise for the Partner Manager when required.



  • Line Manager for Representative Relationship Partner, responsible for prioritising, motivating and developing the skills of that role holder

  • Develop and embed a clear stakeholder plan to create strong relationships with key stakeholders at CMC's, regulators and other bodies, by ensuring timely, effective and regular communication

  • Support and deliver the strategic direction of the Services

  • Represent the company as a senior leader at internal and external events relating to service delivery

  • Practice and advocate strong partnership behaviours, consistently championing improved ways of working

  • Work closely with CMC's and the company's operations teams, to ensure day to day operational support is in place and any issues are managed and mitigated through to resolution

  • Make insight driven decisions using internal and external data sources, MI reporting and research materials - constantly being aware of metrics and key performance indicators and their root causes

  • Build strong internal relationships with TCT, Defaults, Emerging Issues and Ops Support to ensure Partners, CMC's and other impacted third parties are fully prepared for potential workloads and to influence the right outcomes for customers and stakeholders

  • Deputise for the Partner Manager where necessary


  • Responsible for the development and implementation of company's CMC strategic approach, delivering on our clients company ambitions

  • Ensure continuous improvement of services delivered to the Customer through the implementation of operational best practice and interaction with the wider team

  • Responsible for the working relationship with key suppliers of information and data for the claims process, to facilitate improvements for the customer journey.

  • Support the company and their Partners to deliver on all contractual obligations

It would be great to see candidates with:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or relevant financial services experience

  • Extensive experience of relationship management with tier one suppliers

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships to executive level

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Leadership experience and the ability to drive change

  • The role holder must be willing to work both on site in London and spend time at our partner's site(s) across the UK.

  • The role holder may be required to work offsite (either domestically or internationally).
