An exciting secondment or 1-year fixed term opportunity has arisen in the newly formed Strategy & Communities Service for an experienced strategy and policy practitioner to lead a specialist team supporting the Council's work with the Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) including the corporate grants programme as well as the council wide approach to community cohesion, engagement & consultation. You will play a visible and impactful leadership role, enabling your team to work collaboratively across the Council and with partners to deliver specialist and effective strategy and policy interventions that achieves priority outcomes and strategic objectives. About you As an expert in strategic relationships with the community and the VCS you will be design and implement corporate priorities. You will have: * An expert understanding of voluntary and community sector, cohesion, engagement and consultation and associated national, regional and local operating contexts and statutory/regulatory frameworks * Working with voluntary and community sector through grants programme or commissioning * An exceptional strategy & policy skillset including policy analysis, evidence-based policy making and strategic planning * Collaborative leadership skills in complex partnership environments and astute political understanding * A track record of delivering tangible outcome improvements for residents/service users
