An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Street Lighting Engineer to join a public sector organisation based in East London.


The role will be responsible for the management and maintenance of all electrical street furniture on the Public Highway including the design and delivery of street lighting schemes and services within the Responsive Maintenance and Street Lighting team. The role will supervise and manage the delivery of the street lighting programme replacement and upgrade of all council owned electrical street furniture and the maintenance contract to ensure that the Public Lighting Service is efficient and effective.


The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience working within street lighting and being responsible for the design and delivery of street lighting schemes.


Key duties will include



  • Responsible for the design, development and implementation of street lighting schemes including investigation, feasibility consultation, obtaining approvals and consents as required, detailed design, preparing contract documents and project management of projects on site

  • Responsibility of management and maintenance of road signs, including non illuminated signs on the public highway and other designated areas

  • Responsible for the design, contract administration, funding, implementation and management of Festive Lighting at various locations

  • To provide complex professional and technical guidance and support

  • To undertake and develop feasibility and deign to enable new street lighting schemes to be implemented
