  • The role allows our client and the Retailer to further develop their collaborative relationship by:

  • Driving improved service performance through a deep understanding of the E2E supply chain and utilisation of customer systems for proactive supply management.

  • Pursuing 'Perfect Execution' in-store by ensuring the businesses plans are aligned, agreed and that any risk to execution is communicated at the earliest opportunity and mitigation actions are in place

  • Continuously improving the operational efficiency of the E2E supply chain and developing collaborative relationships and ways of working to add supply chain value (service, cost, inventory and growth).

Job Content:

The implant role will build up robust relationships with internal & external stakeholders to support our client and the retailer in meeting and exceeding our combined supply chain KPIs. The job holder will be highly proactive in identifying and resolving issues and informing all required stakeholders across the two businesses. In doing this, we will build a mutually beneficial relationship with the retailer which will allow us to unlock sales potential for both businesses as well as pave the way for future collaborative opportunities and become a supply chain partner of choice for the customer.

The Supply Chain is increasingly becoming a value driver for the client as they strive to;

  • Increase customer centricity and alignment with the customers metrics

  • Increase on shelf availability beyond current levels

  • Drive additional sales through more effective promotional execution

  • Strengthen customer service through management of products in the customers supply chains

  • Optimize physical flow of the network to drive down costs

  • Reduce transactional and obsolescence costs

  • Reduce raw materials and finished goods inventories along entire value chain

  • Improve asset utilization of resources

  • Increase responsiveness to Customer requests and decision making speed

This role is a key link in the Clients Supply Chain to provide the retailer with a point of contact within their business for supply chain matters and through this drive up key SC KPIs.

Principal Accountability's:

Operational responsibilities to support service and sales/growth:

  • Daily order monitoring - supporting customer service with failed orders, investigating out of stocks, ensuring any risk to promotional or emotive SKU deliveries are highlighted to the analyst.

  • Responsible for maximising key customer metrics (Casefill, Inbound service, DC-Store availability, SBA%) through efficient working with Demand Planning / Customer Service / Product Supply and the retailer analysts.

  • Manage activity and portfolio to ensure optimum stockholding (measure - stockholding budget targets are met)

  • Use key customer systems to identify supply trends, zero stocks, inbound % reports etc and take action to resolve any issues

  • Improve promo delivery year on year (measure - promo performance reviews)

  • Deliver range changes to store in accordance with schedules (measure - 100% availability in store)

  • Focus on Average Rate of Sale, Base Forecasts, Replenishment, Store & Depot Performance/Gaps etc

  • In conjunction with the Demand Planner, take the lead in establishing and maintaining collaborative planning review Use customer expertise and data insight to implement process improvement for mutual value

  • Embed new collaborative ways of working to improve efficiency

  • Support and enable supply chain projects in line with Joint Supply Chain Business Plan (JSCBP)

  • Share best practice with other suppliers and feed insights back into Mars

Background Experience & Qualifications:

HND/degree in Business Studies or other related subject, or relevant business experience.

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills - able to create and evaluate data in spreadsheet format

  • Able to work well in team environments and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Clear thinker, good communicator and needs to have structured and pro-active style of working - able to prioritise and multitask

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of Supply Chain principles, product distribution and on shelf availability would be a key attribute


  • Microsoft office knowledge, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • An understanding of retailers and their SC processes

  • Basic supply chain / logistics experience
