Programme Management Office - Support Officer

* The purpose of this role is to support the Assistant Director of Transformation to deliver a range of Programme Support services across Havering, this includes;
* To proactively manage the delivery of a range of tasks to enable Programme Managers to deliver a wide range of projects that underpin the Transformation Programme.
* To be accountable for the successful oversight, monitoring and reporting of all activity within the programme, taking steps to manage, mitigate and if required, escalate any risks or issues that might impede programme progress.
* To be the recognised, dedicated point of contact for the Transformation Programme managing requests from a variety of contacts including Politicians, Directors, Senior Managers , Programme Managers and providing advice on complex queries.
* Be an active member of a community of change to engender best practice across the Council in relation to Project Management.
* Championing the use and continued roll out of the corporate wide Enterprise Portfolio Management tool.
* To deliver, review and improve the monthly training programme.
* To train and support new users set up projects using a range of project related principles.
* To analyse, evaluate and present management data/information to enable decision making for the Senior Leadership Team and Lead Members.
* To be responsible for the production of visually appealing, creative material including presentations and reports for both internal and external use, often at short notice.
* To deliver a wide range of tasks/requests and to manage competing priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
* To build relationships with Project Owners using persuasion and advocacy skills to ensure that projects and programmes adhere to reporting processes and identify the need for corrective action where necessary.
* To work independently using innovative thinking to solve problems, delivering solutions to constantly drive improvements to ways of working
