Job Title - Surface Mount Technician


Location - Yunex Traffic, Sopers Lane, Poole


Duration - 6 months Temporary (with a view to become perm)


Shift Pattern - Monday - Friday 37.5rs between 6am - 10pm


Start date - ASAP



Adecco UK are currently recruiting for a Surface Mount Technician to join one of our Globally known companies.


Duties:



  • Operates electronic production machines to manufacture parts and semi-products according to engineering requirements, in required quality and manufacturing time.

  • Sets up and operates with a non-specified or broad production machine environment.

  • Organizes and uses machine related tools, and equipment relevant in production.

  • Plans and lays out work, prepares components or semi-products and monitors related hand-stock.

  • Processes the components or semi-products/products according to engineering specifications and quality standards.

  • May perform basic machine-related CNC / SPS-programming, if required.

  • Performs basic or specifically defined maintenance operations.

  • Cooperates with maintenance technicians and/or external service providers in repair issues.



Our client will provide full training in this role, but you will need to be prepared to work hard and willing to take responsibility. Any competence in running surface mount machines would be beneficial.


In addition, the following would be required:


Business Assurance:



  • The role holder is responsible for ensuring that they work safely at all times, and they are aware of the possible impact of their actions on the colleague's safety and well-being. The role will have a close and active link health and safety requirements and processes.


Technical Knowledge:



  • A detailed knowledge of production processes and practices are essential, experience in electromechanical production including knowledge of material and process constraints preferable.


Communication:



  • Regularly interacts with various levels within the Operations team and occasionally other functions. Occasionally may be required to create written reports.


Developing the Business:



  • You will be encouraged to review the role you have and suggest new ways of approaching matters and then implementing your plans.


Interpersonal skills:



  • The role will require you to develop good working relationships with colleagues within Operations.

  • You will need to listen to people, understand their issues and handle complex and technical matters.


Planning/Objective setting and Meeting Deadlines:



  • You will be expected to work with your manager and colleagues in understanding the departments objectives and deadlines and planning your work to meet these priorities.


Problem solving:



  • The PCB Support Technician will be required to develop solutions to resolve a variety of manufacturing process problems to maintain a smooth and efficient manufacturing function. Lean and 5S knowledge would be advantageous


Team working/team leadership:



  • This position has no responsibility for managing or leading a team, however guidance will be required from you to communicate efficiently with other technical staff on production related issues and to the cell leader on production issues.


Working with Information:



  • This position works with key data concerning production equipment.

  • The post holder needs to be well organized and able to work methodically and accurately under pressure.


Customers/Suppliers:



  • The job holder may occasionally be required to liaise with other production cells within the factory.


Financial:



  • The position has responsibility for ensuring a financial awareness to process activities but no direct budgetary responsibility.


People Responsibility:



  • To help and encourage other team members when necessary.
