Our client within public sector is looking for an experienced Surveyor to join their team based in Newham with flexibility to work between Newham and Havering. The role is offered on a 6 months contract basis paying up to 300/day umbrella rate working 36 hours per week.









The postholder has management, supervisory and work planning responsibility for other Staff in the Section and responsibilities include:


� To provide estate management and valuation services, together with supervisory and other associated functions and duties from time to time on property matters


� The provision and procurement of a full range of valuation and estates services in respect of the Council's operational and non-operational property portfolio


� Undertake pro-active complex negotiations without direct supervision for the grant or renewal of leases or licences of operational properties, shops, offices, industrial premises and land and negotiation of rent reviews in respect of such property in accordance with established guidelines.


� To actively identify and develop new partnerships and supply arrangements to secure Best value for the council in property management services.


� To identify sites and premises and manage all processes relating to acquisitions and disposals.


� Negotiating and agreeing lease terms and rents with community groups, third parties having regard to the council's policies and guidelines.


� The role involves working in office and on-site working with occasional requirement to work outside 'normal' office hours / as required by their line manager up to 36 hours per week



Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:





� Extensive experience of property matters, transactions, valuations, management and the general property activities of a local authority gained in the public and/or private sector, including providing high level advice


� A Fellow or Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or extensive property experience


� Extensive post qualification experience of property matters of a local authority gained in the public/and or private sector and delivering best value.


� Experience in inspecting/surveying a wide range of buildings, undertaking valuations.


� Detailed knowledge and skills in a wide range


� Fellow/Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors


� RIC registered Valuer


� Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT applications, spreadsheets and databases
