Job purpose of a Training system development and support manager:



Will lead and manage the training, system development and system support functions within the directorate, engaging with key internal stakeholders, external suppliers and partner agencies, to support progression of the directorate's continuous improvement agenda.



Main responsibilities of a training system development and support manager:



  • Lead the development and implementation of effective strategic and operational planning within the directorate and broader children's services partnerships ensuring that effective training, system support and system development are made available to lead and support the development of key service strategies.

  • Lead, direct and manage the service delivery of a team ensuring the cohesive working of the team to provide high quality, responsive, consistent and efficient training and system support across the service.

  • Ensure the team plans are developed to reflect wider effective service plans and strategies and that the necessary resources are in place to deliver effective and high quality service.

  • To enable all staff (front line - to management) to effectively manage case management systems and information and for senior managers, leaders and partners to have the business intelligence required to make insightful decisions that help to improve good outcomes for children and families.

  • Maintain a full understanding of current research, national and local developments with regards to children, young people and families. Engage with regional bench marking and other relevant groups to inform the development of performance information processes, reporting and models of good practice

  • Will lead and manage the training, system development and system support functions within the Children services directorate, engaging with key internal stakeholders, external suppliers and partner agencies, to support progression of the directorate's continuous improvement agenda.


A training system development and support manager must have:



  • Knowledge of the Liquid logic LCS system

  • Management experience essential, ideally in system and support management. Will manage up to 6 staff

  • Knowledge of children services is desirable, but knowledge of local government or adults social care is desirable

  • Knowledge of call logging systems is desirable
