We are seeking a qualified accountant who wants to start working with and learning more about Tax. The successful candidate will assist the Tax Manager in managing UK Tax matters relating to VAT, Corporation tax, and PAYE/NIC etc.


You will need:



  • Knowledge and understanding of VAT

  • Experience of preparing VAT Returns

  • Working knowledge of Corporation Tax

  • Experience of corporate and deferred tax accounting

  • Experience of working in a tax compliance or advisory role within a commercial environment, HMRC or in practice

  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills


Essential:



  • English and Maths 'O' level or GCSE

  • CTA part-qualified


Desirable:



  • ACCA/ACA qualified


Job duties:



  • To support the Tax Manager on matters involving taxation.

  • Responsible for setting up of tax processes for new entities with support from the Tax Manager.

  • Production of IFRS Tax Accounting covering both Current and Deferred Corporation Tax

  • Preparation of Corporation Tax numbers for half-yearly/yearly reporting

  • Preparation using Alphatax and submission of yearly Corporation Tax Return to HMRC.

  • Production of quarterly VAT Returns to ensure VAT compliance.

  • Implementation of Making Tax Digital for certain UK subsidiaries with the support of the Tax Manager.

  • Assist the Tax Manager in the preparation and submission of the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) Claims and Incentive Scheme Reporting where necessary

  • Ensure tax procedures are maintained.

  • Assist Legal in areas of legal compliance relating to taxation.
