We're looking for an experienced Administrator who loves collaboration to help lead a dynamic team. If you have proven experience managing a team and coordinating projects, this is the role for you!!

Job title: Team Leader (Administration Department)
Duration: 6-12 month maternity cover
Hours: 37.5 a week
Location: Remote working & office based in Westminster
Hourly rate: £18.00-£20.00

The position

This role is providing maternity cover for the Lead Secretariat, who is responsible for leading a small team of administrators and assessors, ensuring the team is supported and encouraged to perform at the best of their abilities and key work is delivered.

  • Responsible for leading and managing the administration team to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed

  • Responsible for coordinating the work on the team, specifically leading the team through new application projects

  • Overseeing and developing papers

  • Overlooking the tasks assigned to the administrative support team member

  • Coordinating the work of the Committee with their internal and external stakeholders

  • Stakeholder management

  • Dealing with sensitive data with the upmost discretion

  • Coordinate projects and work load between multiple departments

  • Establishing effective working relationships with committee members

  • Drafting or where appropriate managing and reviewing replies to correspondence and briefing for senior managers

  • Overseeing the publication of information on projects as part of their openness policy

Key skills needed

  • Be able to build effective personal and professional networks and capabilities and collaborate with colleagues within the business

  • Experience leading a group to achieve and work to deadlines

  • Project management skills and working experience

  • Stakeholder management experience - experience dealing with a committee would be ideal

  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and in writing, must be able to present and convey complex information to specialist and non-specialist audiences

  • Any government or scientific industry background would be a bonus
