Adecco Sunderland has a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established expanding company based in Newton Aycliffe who are currently looking for a new Technical Advisory Engineer to join their team.

My client offers a competitive salary which is dependent on experience for a 37.5-hour week on a day shift basis.

Job Summary:

To make a significant contribution to the company's drive towards the total Quality concept, co-ordinating supplier and customer requirements. Supporting the customer in all technical issues and providing technical solutions to any customer issues. Provide data supporting recommendations put forward and participating in continuous improvement activities.

Providing clear communication between the customer and the commercial, technical and manufacturing functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To visit customers daily offering technical support, monitoring performance within IATF16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001.

  • Responsible for APQP, PSW, PPAP processes.

  • Internal auditing of SGI systems, Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety and SPG.

  • To relate customers' requirements to all personnel/departments enabling suitable controls of key characteristics and processes.

  • Work with suppliers and hire processors to ensure the complete supply chain is aware of all processes and end use requirements, and that these are met.

  • Ensure that ongoing development in steel product/production/processing and quality assurance techniques are known and applied for company and customer benefits.

  • To ensure any commercial issues are filtered through to the Account Manager.

  • To monitor and log all 8D's & ensuring all 8D's are responded to within a strict timetable.

  • To monitor and provide statistical evidence of trials at the customer providing comprehensive reports on the trials to both quality and commercial.

  • Maintain and develop comprehensive but concise reporting systems at all levels.

  • To monitor the incoming quality of the product into the customer ensuring the quality standards are met.

  • To introduce continuous improvement activities and to participate in the customers improvement teams.

  • To push forward strategic developments and highlight any opportunities.

  • To support customers with technical visits.

  • To champion CCAR's and ICAR's and to Chair review meetings.

  • Manage the Tube supply process. Including daily monitoring and reporting of stock levels, co-ordination of incoming deliveries and dealing with any quality related issues.

  • A willingness to travel to other sites as required.

  • Have the authority the stop the manufacturing process, reject or quarantine material which they suspect is not suitable for the customers' requirements.

  • To attend daily standing meetings with the Shift Manager/GAP Leader, detailing what is required each shift.
