Position: Telesales Executive



Department: Telesales



Reports to: Telesales Manager / Supervisor



Hours of work 24 hours per week including 1 x 30 minute unpaid break


(shift patterns will vary per depot)



Main purpose of role


To liaise with new and current customers by telephone to generate, maintain and expand sales and product orders with an objective of achieving a planned level of sales.



Duties and responsibilities



  • Contact customers by telephone against a pre-determined schedule using time management effectively in order to maximise selling time to ensure the volume of sales and profit from each account is maximised.

  • To maximise and operate the telesales computer system when dealing with each customer or unit in order to given a professional image in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures to develop profitable sales.

  • To operate the computer system effectively to give a professional structure to every sales call in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures to develop profitable sales.

  • To re-direct all customer complaints to the Customer Help desk team.

  • To generate reports relating to customer orders, delivery dates, time or frequency of delivery of special instructions in order to enable an assembly sheet, invoice and delivery to occur.

  • To complete, verify and amend on a ongoing basis customer records to ensure that they are accurate, up to date and available in order that individual accounts can be analysed and reviewed.

  • To undertake telephone canvassing calls to potential new customers to generate new sales.

  • To give advice on product development and product range to customers to help them extend and improve their business and subsequently to generate additional orders.

  • To liaise with customers by telephone in a specific manner as dictated by Company policy in order to present a consistent image.

Knowledge, skills and experience



  • Previous experience within a telesales environment

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

  • PC literate, efficient in email word and basic excel



Desirable



  • Educated to O level or equivalent grade

  • PC and systems literate - essential, not desirable



Performance indicators



  • Achievement of project deadlines [as agreed]
