An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tenancy Support Officer to join a public sector organisation.

The role will be working within the Housing Demand Service and Housing Solutions. The role will be to provide case management support to individuals with multiple complex needs, with the goal of maintaining the tenancy, including early intervention, crisis, post crisis, advocacy and activities in the form of individual or group sessions.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of providing tenancy and housing advice, with the ability to support individuals with complex needs.

Key duties will include:

  • Manage complex needs casework, provide advice and make decisions in line with policy and procedural guidelines

  • Maintain effective planned schedule of visits and evaluate and deliver the right resources to address support needs

  • Work with clients to improve property condition, work with tenants following neighbour complaints or assist with financial counselling referrals to ensure possible breaches of tenancy do not end in termination

  • Provide accurate advice services to rough sleepers through personal or telephone interviews, correspondence, advocacy, reception, home visiting and outreach service

  • Ensure accurate written and computer records, reports and other monitoring information is kept and maintained

  • Timely resolution of enquiries, complaints and correspondence from rough sleepers and their advocates, including solicitors, councillors, MPs, the ombudsman and other housing providers

  • Ensure that rough sleepers are supported, coached and empowered to live independently and sustain their tenancies to avoid returning to the streets
