An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tenancy Support Officer to join a public sector organisation based in Essex.

The role will be to provide case management support to individuals with multiple complex needs with the goal of maintaining the tenancy, including early intervention, crisis, post crisis, advocacy and activities in the form of individual or group sessions.

The successful candidate will have experience working and communicating with clients with multiple complex needs and providing tenancy and housing advice.

Key duties

  • To offer early intervention and ongoing support to prevent individuals with multiple and complex needs from returning to rough sleeping following discharge from hospital

  • To provide a high quality service to clients who are housed in accommodation who have complex needs individuals

  • To support people to sustain their quality of life, develop support plans and engage various support agencies. Provide advice for safeguarding and health and wellbeing on a wide range of issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills and the promotion of personal independence

  • Act as the principle point of contact for casework within their accommodation

  • To ensure environment and condition that clients experience is high quality and well maintained

  • To support on safeguarding to ensure smooth transition into suitable accommodation

  • To provide intensive one to one support and consistent contact to clients

  • Make connections with a wide range of support services to facilitate support and assistance for individuals to address social and health issues and other personal barriers to sustaining housing

  • Facilitate joint work and develop initiatives with external agencies
