Test Team Leader


Salary £35,000

We are currently recruiting for one of our key clients for a Test Team Leader

To co-ordinate the work-flow of the department on a daily basis.

To support continuous improvement initiatives, leading to improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.

To develop the processes and staff to work efficiently and effectively, in a safe and repeatable manner to meet the daily manufacturing schedule.


➢ To manage the day to day execution of the manufacturing schedule in the Test, depart ment.

➢ To drive and support initiatives in improving and achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets

➢ To support the Production Manager in maintaining effective working within the area. This will typically include working to Works Order end-dates, adherence to quality standards and providing feedback on quality and processing issues.

➢ Deliver and co-ordinate staff training and update existing employees on new products & processes.

➢ Organise staff allocation to meet output demands including movement of staff between departments. Raise staff shortage concerns to the Production Manager as soon as possible and assist in problem solving such issues.

➢ To maintain safe working practices, advise on unsafe conditions and ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported within the required timeframe.

➢ To advise on the status of work in the area and escalate to the Production Manager if output requirements are at risk. Typically to communicate on a daily basis, usually via the Production meetings, and on an as and when required basis.

➢ To liaise with other sections/departments to resolve any issues that affect work flow.

. ➢ To escalate any staff welfare, performance or employee relations matters to the Production Manager.


➢ Ability to comply and enforce procedures under direct responsibility

➢ A willingness to contribute to improvements in the processes used by the business.

➢ The flexibility to perform other activities, which from time to time become necessary. These activities may be quality, production or administration related.


➢ An HNC/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering - a lower level qualification but with significant and evidences experience in a similar role will also be considered.

➢ Formal Supervisory training and/or qualification preferred but not essential.

➢ The ability to perform test and product problem solving and diagnostics.

➢ Experience of hour by hour management tracking and continuous improvement techniques such as CAPA, 8D.

➢ Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, and persuade at all levels within the organisation; to build trust and confidence and establish credibility.

➢ Experience of product rework in an electromechanical environment an advantage.

➢ Professional, flexible and highly motivated, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

➢ Drives for results, achieves satisfaction from finishing tasks to a detailed level.

➢ Adaptable and open to change.

➢ Ability to show initiative - anticipates problems.
