The Tour Organiser is responsible for producing quotes, maintaining and maximizing sales revenues and profit margins, managing and progressing customer accounts, ensuring accurate and efficient administration of bookings, liaising with suppliers, assisting with product development whilst delivering excellent customer service.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities
These include but are not limited to the following:



  • To sell and operate successfully all tours within agreed profit margins, in line with agreed targets and budgets set by the company.

  • Tour Organising. A fundamental aspect of this role is developing, administrating, and operating high-quality and safe tours, in line with company procedures, that meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Managing customer accounts and delivering excellent customer service. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers to ensure the best possible service is provided with an aim to retain as much repeat business as possible. To progress customer accounts through communicating cross-marketing opportunities to the customer and passing on leads to other brands within the company.

  • Collating customer feedback. Reviewing customer feedback with the Product Manager and assisting in the development of action plans to address any issues.

  • To liaise with all suppliers (internal and external) to ensure your groups'requirements are fully met. Responsible for communicating with third-party suppliers, booking accommodation, excursions, and some transport, managing payments, and liaising with the Product Manager about supply requirements and customer feedback.

  • Quality control. Ensuring that all communication with customers meets the company sales and marketing guidelines. This includes letters, emails, and telephone calls. As well as this, the Tour Organiser is responsible for ensuring all data and communications are entered into our reservation system comprehensively and accurately.

  • Health and Safety compliance. Responsible for ensuring that all accommodation and suppliers used have the appropriate safety audits in place.

  • 24-hour emergency support line. Participation in the 24-hour emergency help-line rota, providing on-call assistance to groups whilst travelling.


Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess most of the following:



  • An interest in travel.

  • Experience in the school travel market and/or tourism industry.

  • Sales experience.

  • Highly customer service orientated.

  • The ability to multi-task and create a rapport with a wide variety of clients.

  • Organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good geographical knowledge.

  • Good IT skills.
