Our client has a great opportunity for an individual with the ability to deliver fantastic customer service to join our highly successful Stevenage branch as a Trade Counter Supervisor where you will proactively build strong relationships with our customers.


The closing date for this role is 31st July 2019


The Role:



  • Deliver excellent personal service from the Sales Counter, that they build and maintain successful partnerships with customers, colleagues and suppliers and focus on the achievement of long-term customer loyalty.

  • Expose the customer to a wide range of stock and impulse products, new stock ranges and any value added services as is practical within the Sales Counter, in accordance with minimum standards of performance that ensure a clean and tidy environment is presented at all times, thus creating an environment that will positively influence the Sales Counter performance.

  • Employ a wide range of techniques and resources, including Company and market information, selling and negotiating skills and the correct use of point of sale material effectively, so as to exploit and maximise profitable sales face to face and on the telephone at the Sales Counter.

  • Contribute to the effective operation of the business through active participation in activities such as local promotions in accordance with the annual business plan.

  • Provide management with the required reports, information and feedback to contribute to the effective planning and performance of the business in such areas as customer complaints, returns and credits, general security and stock control, within agreed formats and timescales.

  • Continually review operating procedures recommending any changes to improve operational efficiency and to reduce costs.


The Person:



  • Specific technical, specialised or professional knowledge needed Product knowledge Selling and negotiating

  • The minimum vocational/academic qualifications required Educated to GCSE 'O' level standard in Mathematics and English or equivalent

  • Knowledge and level of proficiency in the use of IT software packages required Fully trained and competent with Movex

  • Proficiency in the use of any specialised equipment FLT advantageous

  • Management and other skills needed High level of attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills
