The purpose of the role is to be the finance system expert and take ownership of all aspects of system administration. The successful candidate will liaise with IT and the Group SAP team on projects aimed at getting the best of the system and will support the Finance Analysts with the full period end process.

The duties of the job are;

  • Ownership of all aspects of the Finance System SAP & Neptune.

  • User Setups

    • New or existing Neptune/SAP users

    • Setup and maintenance of Neptune/SAP Profiles

    • User Amendments - change of role etc

  • SAP Maintenance of Chart of Accounts

    • Reversing Accrual journals from prior period

    • Creating new cost centres & expense codes

    • Mapping cost/expense codes

    • Mapping & integrating external files

  • Monthly Lennon Process

    • Ownership over the excel working file

    • Import the Periodic Lennon figures into existing working file and generate the periodic Journal Posting (Monday Week 2)

    • Lennon Clearing Journal Posting (Week 3)

  • Neptune & Approval Routings

    • Create, fix & amend approval routings through regular review

    • Periodic reviews of approval routings with Business Partners to capture any changes that have taken place during the period.

    • Updating Department Delegated Authority Matrix

    • Setup of new Purchase Material Codes

  • User Queries & Training

    • Conduct Neptune training surgeries around the business on a consistent basis

    • Ownership of user queries through System Admin mailbox

    • Password resets

  • Interact with Group SAP & IT

    • Queries - Taking lead in liaising with Group SAP to resolve any system configuration issues (SAP)

    • UAT Testing - Test and roll-out new patch functionality, facilitate system upgrades

    • Keeping an up-to-date log of new user setups/leavers & System profiles - to support the internal systems audit conducted by Group.

    • Attend quarterly system review meetings with Group and other TOC system admins to review outstanding queries and development opportunities.

  • Management Accounts

    • Period end management accounts - accruals & prepayments journals

    • Period end balance sheet reconciliations

    • Import budgets & outturn into SAP

    • Clear down PO & GRNI commitments

    • PO & GRNI Reporting

  • Purchase Cards

    • Exception Reporting.

    • Periodic cost allocation.

    • User training and set up.

    • Query Resolution.

  • Interim/Year End Audit

    • Support Management Accounts & Shared services teams on internal/externals audits.

    • Create audit reports to set requirements.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Have a strong technical aptitude

  • Previous Systems experience is desirable

  • Advanced MS Excel skill)

  • Basic background in accounting

  • Able to work with & support both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • The skill to work to tight deadlines under pressure

Qualifications & Training

  • Studying towards Accountancy Qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

This role is full time, Monday to Friday for 35 hours a week. The salary is £27,660 per year. We are looking to recruit ASAP so if you are interested please apply your CV asap.
