Salary: £40-45K per annum starting salary - dependent on experience



Job Summary


As the UK Trade Marketing Manager, you will be a key link between UK Sales and Central Marketing in order to maximise Brand representation across our customer base and ultimately Sales. You will define the activation plans and manage a marketing budget in order to provide the maximum return. Working in a small marketing team of two, this role involves day-to-day management of the UK's marketing activities, offers a broad marketing remit across marketing strategy, full-mix communications, research and market intelligence, and sales support. This will be a very hands on role, so in addition to top organisation skills you'll need to be self-sufficient and a natural communicator with full of energy.



Job description


Strategy development



  • Work closely with Central Marketing team to drive business growth across Consumer Batteries product portfolio

  • Be well integrated with the Central Marketing Team to align approaches and synergies on specific strategic activities

  • Ensures all brand communications are consistent with global brand positioning



Marketing & PR management



  • Own the annual marketing budget to ensure funds are allocated and invested wisely; update the marketing budget log on a monthly basis

  • Accountability for the annual brand planning process to set a fully integrated marketing plan utilizing the full marketing mix of advertising, promotions, trade and PR

  • Set the marketing objectives and strategies for the upcoming year. Recommend marketing mix development for touch points for brand communication

  • Work with any applicable Media and PR agencies in order to provide a clear message for the brand and build brand awareness in the UK

  • Supervise PR campaigns, sponsorship activities, events; manage industry press relationships

  • Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with corporate identity and marketing plans

  • Responsible for ROI analysis on projects and track projects' key performance indicators

  • Develop the social media strategy for the UK and monitor the local posting plans to be managed by the Sales & Marketing Executive

  • Liaise with Licensing companies (e.g. Which) to carry out product testing and maximise brand development and sell through

  • Manage Trade Show ensuring brand and product strategies are communicated clearly

  • Drive and localise the UK website with the help from Central Marketing team

  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Product, and CatMan teams to develop and recommend a brand &/or category innovation strategy, including role of sustaining and breakthrough innovation, new categories, and new market spaces.


Product communications



  • Act as a brand / product champion across the business for the UK market

  • Organise and manage product training if needed

  • Submit all required reports or forecast within agreed timescales

  • Ensure all assets are always up-to-date and save in the UK shared drive



Market intelligence



  • Lead, develop and implement the annual and strategic long term brand and NPD pipelines based on consumer and market insights

  • Monitor the market and market trends along with competitor activity



Sales support



  • Provide Trade Marketing support for the UK Sales team

  • Help define price and assortment strategies in close cooperation with key account management

  • Support at customer meetings both in terms of preparation and presenting



Line management



  • Manage and coach the Sales & Marketing Executive (x1)



Skills and experience



  • Have a Business Degree / Diploma or a related field

  • At least 5 years of equivalent marketing experience

  • Have managed a pre-defined marketing budget

  • Has worked on a business with global or international exposure. Demonstrates an understanding of differences between countries and cultures.

  • Gravitas to influence and manage stakeholders at all levels

  • End-to-end campaign management

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, using data to provide insight

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Be open, creative and team-oriented with an operational hands-on approach

  • Highly motivated and self-reliant with the ability to learn quickly

  • Prioritise and manage workloads to achieve deadlines whilst maintaining quality and accuracy of work at all times

  • Structured, organised, analytical, detail oriented, able to multitask as well as being creative

  • Able to work under pressure and in a complex and fast-paced environment

  • Full Driving License
