Vetting Researcher

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Vetting Researcher at Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police. This position is full time for a period of 6 months and is to be based at the Police HQ in Exeter. You will be undertaking interrogation of various sources to evaluate, analyse and present relevant information in order for vetting decisions to be made by the Force Vetting Officer.

What you will be doing:

  • Accurately record and archive relevant information

  • Arrange vetting renewals

  • Provide support to the Force Vetting Officer by providing suitable advice and progressing vetting enquiries to applicant and decision makers

  • Provide administrative support


  • Sound information gathering, research and analytical skills

  • Experience with MS Office

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • An understanding of Data protection principles
