Working with the Operations Manager the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for directing the warehouse operational staff of the Langley site. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service by giving clear direction to the operational staff, liaising with the Operations Manager You will act professionally at all times and in accordance with the company's core values. Leading by example you will be responsible for ensuring all activities are managed within the health and safety requirement and that the operational performance meets the business targets. You will be expected to implement and develop operational processes to ensure that the site runs efficiently and effectively with a view to continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager:




  • Promote and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures

  • Effective and efficient organisation and clear direction to operational staff on shift of day to day tasks within the warehouse

  • Work with the Operations Manager to develop best practice systems

  • Assist in stock taking when required

  • Co-ordinate the goods inwards, stock movement and returns

  • Ensure fork trucks are regularly checked and repairs are reported to the Operations Manager

  • To take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of picking, loading and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse processes

  • To take full responsibility of the quality of product being picked within companies quality systems, processes and procedures

  • Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff

  • Monitor, measure and report on warehouse related process performance, general issues

  • To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff

  • To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy

  • Working with the Operations Manager report accidents and near misses and ensure the procedures are followed for reporting incidents




  • Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand

  • Ensure handovers are effective communications tools

  • To ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift and identify to the Operations Manager of any requirements

  • To have an active role in the companies continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company

  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace

  • All employees are responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs

  • Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the companies organisational structure

  • Maintaining high level of timekeeping is of the essence
