Job Title: Warehouse Operations Manager

Reports to Site: General Manager Position


As Warehouse Operations Manager you will effectively supervise a team of colleagues and manage and assign workload to ensure efficient, safe and handling of customer products to meet the companies service targets, complete safety and quality audits whilst actively contributing to make sure that the business provides the very best service to all customers, ensuring where possible to have a positive impact on results, enhance profitability and assist the business to meet its objectives and goals.

Position Responsibilities

To ensure your team provides a first-class service and completes all assigned workload to the standards the company requires in meeting its service agreements. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of a range of customer products ensuring service targets are achieved and surpassed.

1. Overall responsibility for all aspects of the effective supervision, training & development and health, safety and welfare of your teams;

2. Maintain safe and fit for purpose MHE and machinery ensuring all are tested in line with regulations, including daily start up checks;

3. Execute operational requirements and workload, carefully balancing resource and capability whilst maintaining budget targets working closely with the depot manager;

4. Plan and coordinate the incoming goods, storage, picking and despatch of goods in a timely and efficient manner to achieve your team objectives and KPI's (key performance indicators) as determined by the Site General Manager (Warehouse) including all loading and unloading activities;

5. To provide effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space management and internal stock transfers;

6. Effective management and processing of non-conforming product ensuring swift remedy in line with authorised business processes;

7. Working with your immediate teams ensure all returns are accurately processed and put-away within 36 hours;

8. Planning periodic stock counts and cycle counting;

9. Accountable for ensuring that the quality of the products and services within the warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standard for the customer applying the business quality management processes encompassing BRC standards and processes working closely with the Quality Manager;

10. Continual enforcement of the company's Health & Safety policy responsible for safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse and within your team;

11. Represent the department on the Health & Safety Committee as required. Supervision Accountable for the entire activity of your teams and its overall effectiveness in achieving the targets and workload set by the Depot Manager (Warehouse). Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all legal and relevant legislation adhered to, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions to your line manager. You will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the company and contribute to the positive image of the company.

1. Accurate, effective and efficient handling and put-away of all volumes, RFT (Right First Time) - 99.5%

2. Accurate, efficient picking and checking of all outbound orders RFT - 98.5%

3. Health & Safety in the workplace (Mandatory) - LTA / Riddor Company Targets

4. Completion of agreed personal training & development plans - As set

5. Housekeeping & Hygiene Audit completion, follow up and close out of actions - 100% 6. Accurate Stock Rotation to customer requirements - As designated by Customer - 99.5%

Knowledge and Skills Essential:

1. Of a friendly and approachable disposition yet with strong people management skills

2. Possess all relevant MHE training and licenses

3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook (email)

4. Detailed understanding of manual handling techniques

5. Possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy with the ability to read and understand English

6. Excellent understanding of, and commitment to safe working practices

7. Customer focused with excellent communication skills

8. Excellent Planning, organising and prioritising skills
