Warehouse Team Leader

Due to the continued success and growth of our client, we are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join their friendly, people-oriented business in this newly created role at their Sheffield premises.

The successful applicant will lead and manage the Warehouse function to ensure the team operates to targets.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to bring new ideas, drive and implement improvements and standardise processes.

This fantastic Warehouse Team Leader opportunity involves:

  • Management of goods inwards to inspection and stores to ensure items are received within the relevant timescale

  • Stock and shortage management

  • Prioritising of goods inwards to meet inspection and kitting requirements.

  • Ensuring that perpetual stock taking tasks are completed.

  • Health & Safety checks

  • Kit picking when necessary to reduce backlog.

  • Improving methods of storage and handling to minimise loss, damage, and deterioration

  • Continuous improvement, 5s and lean improvement activities.

  • Monitor, measure and report on process performance & general issues.

  • Lead, manage and motivate the Warehouse team - organising labour, identifying training needs, managing performance, attendance management and discipline.

  • Ensuring team is trained and coached in all aspects of their role, creating a continuous improvement/ 5s culture and teamwork, updating skills & behaviours matrix.

  • Conducting annual appraisals.

  • Ensuring conformance to SHEQ policies and procedures.

  • Effectively communicate with Team, Production Management and Despatch Team to achieve agreed service levels as required by our customers.

Key skills, knowledge, and behaviour:

  • Good all-round process knowledge and experience in a Warehouse environment.

  • Competence to review existing SOP's.

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing/ 5s principles and the ability to embed into the culture of the department.

  • Inter-personal skills to obtain the required levels of performance, behaviour etc.

  • Good computer knowledge including ERP systems and Microsoft office (word, excel, outlook, teams).

  • Excellent time management/ organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
